BIRD -- Newcastle CA
(between Rocklin & Auburn)
He loves car rides. He loves women but is bonding with men in foster care. He will follow you around the house, as we say a "Velcro" Springer!
He was surrendered to rescue by his former owner; they claimed he had separation issues, and had tried sedatives, a vest and more. We think he will do best in a loving but disciplined home, ideally with other dogs for company. The right adopter would work out of their home, or have someone home during the day.
Foster home says:
"He loves my ESS (Springer) and little puppy. He visited with my parents and their older dogs with no problem. He does good with my cats too. He came from a family with a three yr old (child), again no problem."
"He knows basic commands--sit, down, lie down, place. He's very calm, and good around his food. He doesn't even try to get on the furniture! He has had crate training but doesn't love it! We put him in [a crate and] he worked through it. I think he will do best with people who would be with him 100%. I think he'd benefit from having another dog buddy too! Leaving him alone is not an option right now."
